Of all the many things said about Donald Trump, what was said by Roger Ailes, head of the Fox News Channel, said it all in just two words: “Grow up!”
It is amazing how many people have been oblivious to this middle-aged man’s spoiled brat behavior, his childish boastfulness about things he says he is going to do, and his petulant response to every criticism with ad hominem replies.
As recently as 1956, nearly 39 percent of blacks voted Republican in that year’s presidential election. After the Civil War, Abe Lincoln’s Republican Party easily carried the black vote — where blacks were allowed to vote. Unwelcome in the Democratic Party, most blacks voted Republican and continued to do so through the early part of the 20th century. It wasn’t until 1948 when 77 percent of the black vote went to Harry Truman, who had desegregated the military, that a majority of blacks identified themselves as Democrats. My friend, J.E.Dyer has written a post about the current political environment that is so excellent that I thought I would repost it here so you can read it.
Everybody seems to be running around in fear, confusion, or both, about what’s going on with the American political right.
I call it that – the “American political right” – because it isn’t coherent or unified enough to call it “conservatives” or “the Republican Party,” and still correctly signify the majority of the people in it. This, in fact, is one of the biggest sources of confusion.

Well, here we go.
National Review’s “Against Trump” editorial and symposium came out last night, and the fecal matter hit the rotor blades.
That’s a bad turn of phrase since we’re neither sh** nor fan. We’re more like a lighthouse amidst the crap-storm, or, at least, we try to be.
This seems lost on a lot of people these days. I keep hearing from folks who seem to think that if Donald Trump is popular or the front-runner, then National Review — and yours truly — must bow to the popular will. Get with the program, they say. See the writing on the wall. Get out in front of this. Continue reading “JONAH GOLDBERG ON TRUMP AND THE ‘ESTABLISHMENT’”→
A Palestinian has been arrested by Israeli security forces overnight Monday for the murder of Dafna Meir in her home on Sunday evening, The Times of Israel reported.
The suspect was identified as 16-year-old Morad Bader Abdullah Adais from the village of Beit Amra, located nearly 2 miles from the West Bank community of Otniel where Meir was killed. Residents of Beit Amra informed Israeli authorities of Adais’ presence in the village, allowing him to be arrested without incident, according to Israel’s Channel 10.
Why are liberals campaigning to make this most illiberal regime acceptable?

In Syria, Bashar Assad is trying to bring his enemies to heel by blocking humanitarian convoys to desperate civilians living in besieged towns. The policy is called “starve or kneel,” and it is openly supported by Hezbollah and tacitly by Iran, which has deployed its elite Quds Force to aid Mr. Assad’s war effort.
