Un-American??

The New York Times in an editorial on Friday, titled, “A Sense of Proportion at Ground Zero” took another swipe at the effort to Take Back the Memorial, calling it “un-American.” The New York Times considers it “un-American” to want to limit any memorial at Ground Zero to honor those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center attack on 9/11 and to reflect the heroic efforts of that day.

A high-tech, multimedia tutorial about man’s inhumanity to man, from Native American genocide to the lynchings and cross-burnings of the Jim Crow South, from the Third Reich’s Final Solution to the Soviet gulags and beyond might be an interesting exhibit, but not at Ground Zero. Ground Zero is now sacred ground and should not be a center for “a journey through the history of freedom.”

For those of you who aren’t aware of the problem at Ground Zero, read this article.

Cox & Forkum have more to say, as does Michelle Malkin.
